BIPAP (Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure) is a non-invasive ventilation therapy. It prevents obstruction of airway passage by suppling pressurized air into the lungs of patients suffering from sleep apnea, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and other respiratory complications. BIPAP provides 2 levels of pressure; Inhalation (IPAP) and exhalation (EPAP). BIPAP therapy can help to improve the patient’s breathing and reduce symptoms such as shortness of breath, snoring, and daytime fatigue.
It also prevents collapse during sleep. The BIPAP machine is designed to automatically adjust the pressure as the patient breathes in and out. BIPAP therapy can help in oxygenation and reduce the workload on the heart. It is easier for patients to breathe comfortably and naturally, unlike invasive ventilation. It enhances the patient’s quality of life by reducing the symptoms of sleep apnea and other breathing disorders.
